Box 523, Brownville, New York 13615. The JCRAC is incorporated in the state of New York and is a tax exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code. Availability: The KC2ELX repeater is open and available to all licensed radio amateurs for both casual and emergency communications. Location: The repeater is located on Hilltop Towers, 113 West Main Street, Watertown, NY 13601. We have contracted with the Watertown Housing Authority to use the building for our repeater site. The move was made on Monday, April 18, 2005. The installation team included (KC2GWT) Paul Barben, (KB2UQV) Cliff Moorhead, (KB2SVQ) Nelson LaBarge Jr., (KC2JNL) Sam Surace, and (WA2VQD) Steve Gunn. Signal reports regarding how coverage is in different areas are always appreciated. Equipment Setup:
Using the Repeater: We are using the frequency 146.760 MHz with a minus offset. A PL tone of 151.4 Hz is required to access the repeater. Those marketing consumer grade amateur radio equipment such as Icom, Kenwood, Yaesu, Alinco, etc. usually refer to the PL tone as CTCSS in their manuals, which stands for Continuous Tone Coded Squelch System. This is because PL, or "Private Line", is a Motorola trademark. Our repeater also transmits the 151.4 Hz tone so you can set your radio's squelch to only open when the matching tone signal is received. This is especially helpful when conditions are such that you're hearing more than one repeater, or if interference in your neighborhood tends to be bothersome. Remember, to cut down on interference, we sometimes use the 151.4 Hz PL (CTCSS) tone on the club's repeater. Please program your radio accordingly. Thank you. We would also like to thank Mike Elcsisin (KC2FTN) for providing a connection to EchoLink.
