September 13, 2004 - Regular Monthly Meeting
The meeting was called to order at 7:32 PM by president Steve Gunn (WA2VQD).
The flag salute was given.
The August minutes were read by the secretary, Dondra Liebman (KC2MYS) and accepted as read. Motion to accept was made by Harry (KC2KGX) and 2nd by Ric (NB2E).
Treasurer's report: Read by Mal Adsit (KC2CUJ) and accepted as read. Motion to accept by Ernie (WB2ASL) and 2nd by Paul (KC2GWT).
Concerns were raised about smoking in the building. Steve asked if people would not smoke in the building during public events, even though it is not against the law. Motion to strike line from minutes about smoking not allowed in building.
Activity Manager’s Report: Ric Letson (NB2E) thanked everyone for coming to the picnic. If you have any questions or suggestions for the next picnic, please let Ric know. Steve (WA2VQD) gave round of applause for a job well done. Thank you Pete (N2YRS) for being auctioneer.
Old Business: Jim (K2PNA) asked how we are doing on the equipment inventory. Ric (NB2E) is working on it. Mal (KC2CUJ) gave information about the Christmas dinner. Don Scee (KB2VMR) asked where the key to the mail box was.
Office Nominations were made by Paul (KC2GWT). Steve Gunn (WA2VQD) for president, Pete (N2YRS) for vice president, Mal Adsit (KC2CUJ) for treasurer, Dondra Liebman (KC2MYS) for secretary, Ric Letson (NB2E) for activities manager, and Ernie Jeican (KC2ASL) for 3 year trustee.
New Business: When we approved the changes in the constitution and bylaws, new officers take their positions in January instead of May. Steve (WA2VQD) will change the typo in the constitution and bylaws.
Announcements: Next meeting is on October 4th and the last meeting is November 1st.
There will be a club closing party on November 6th at 10:00 AM. Thank you Mike Liebman (KC2MYR) for fixing the furnace, so we can heat the building. Meetings will be on the 76 repeater during the winter. No evening net will be held after the meeting on Mondays. Christmas dinner: Mal (KC2CUJ) wants to know if anyone else wants to sign up. We have about 40 people signed up so far.
Ernie (WB2ASL) would like the status on the club repeater. Ric (NB2E) has not fixed tones as of yet. He can turn the repeater on and off remotely, but after the storm, he is unable to get the tones on. Discussion was made about status of repeater.
Correspondence: No correspondence
George (W2WLR) would like to know if people would be interested in conversations before or after the meetings for around 15 minutes. These conversations will be on a given topic. Leave this open and Steve (WA2VQD) will post this on the website and will also have it announced on the rooster roster.
Jim (K2PNA) made compliment on the club’s website. He indicated it was easy to get into and look at. Old Photo albums, log books, and minutes from the club were brought in by Tim (KB2PYX). Ben (AG2D) brought in old call books, if anyone wants them.
Dondra (KC2MYS) wins the 50/50 and generously donated the winnings back to the club for the club repeater.
Motion to adjorn the meeting was made at 8:20 P.M. by Paul (WX2PJR) and 2nd by Paul (KC2GWT).
