June 7, 2004 - Regular Monthly Meeting

 

The Meeting was called to order at 7:33 P.M. by the President, Steve Gunn (WA2VQD).  The Flag Salute was given.

 

Treasurer’s Report:  Read by Mal (KC2CUJ). Treasurer’s report is accepted as read.  Motion to accept by WB2TUP (Joe) and 2nd by KC2KBQ (Fred).

 

Correspondence: (None)

 

May Minutes were accepted as read.  Motion to accept made by Bob and 2nd by Mike, (KC2JGA).

 

Old Business: The Christmas Dinner was discussed with the group by Paul, (KC2GWT).  The tentative date for the dinner is October 23, 2004  at Tomacy’s  Restaurant in Adams, NY.  A copy of the menu is available online at the club website.  The cost of the dinner is $11.95 per person.  Anyone wishing to attend is asked to pay $1 upfront by September 13th. Cocktail hour will be from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. with dinner being served at 7:00 P.M.

 

Field Days: Field days will be June 26th and 27th at the club site.  Antenna ideas are needed and welcome.  Anyone with additional ideas or comments should contact the Activities Director, Mike (KC2JGA).

A motion was made by Cliff (KB2UQV) that participants shall provide their own meals. The motion was accepted and 2nd by KC2GWT.  This year the club will only be providing drinks and breakfast.  Anyone wishing to bring a dish to pass is more than welcome to.

 

Discussion of proposed changes to the Constitution and By-Laws:

The proposed changes are also available online at the Club website.  The proposed changes will be tabled for 30 days and voted on at the July meeting.  Motion made to table these proposed changes made by KC2KBQ (Fred) and accepted by KC2JGP (Ron).

 

Available Positions: The position of trustee is still open at this time.

New Business: The Club Picnic/Auction will be held on August 14th (Saturday) starting at noon. The club will be providing chicken, hot dogs and hamburgers.  Anyone attending is asked to bring a dish to pass.  Jim (K2PNA) asks that anyone attending please try to bring things to put in the club auction as the proceeds go to the club and is a good way to make money for the club.  Anyone with questions, comments or suggestions can contact the Activities Director, Mike (KC2JGA).

 

KC2KYX (Harry) makes a request that the club publishes a list of existing club members.  Any information provided on the list will be at the club member’s discretion.  The club is in the process of doing this.

 

The next VE examination is scheduled for June 17, 2004 at 6:30 pm at the home of KE2UA (Dave Little) on Dry Hill.

  

50/50 was won by Paul (KC2GWT) who donated the winnings to the club. Thanks Paul!!
