We continued the discussion from last month on the
security of the building and equipment.
Steve had not installed the batteries on the door code, waiting to get
some direction from the membership.
There are many keys out. When the
lock system was installed, it was intended that all Associate, Full, and Life
members would be given the access code.
Steve asked for a show of hands on how many members present wanted to
continue having the code available. It
was a unanimous response. A new code
will be implemented as soon as possible.
It was asked if thank you letters had been sent
out. Steve has already sent letters to

Last month Nelson had suggested cleaning out the silo
and taking some of the metal to the scrap yard to get some money for the club. He is going to take care of that and would
like some help from other members.
Steve reminded the members that dues should be paid by
The 146.760 club repeater is not working
properly. Paul, KC2GWT and Steve,
WA2VQD, ran some tests at the repeater site yesterday. It appears that the finals are possibly gone
and the repeater is only transmitting on the drivers. The repeater is out of warranty and it may
cost as much as $300 or more to have it repaired. Steve mentioned that our funds are low and
needed to know how to proceed. The
members present felt it was important to have it repaired. We will look into getting it shipped out for
a repair estimate.
The club still needs to reimburse Paul for the costs
involved for the new antenna and preamplifier.
This was approved by the board of directors and officers at their April
13th meeting.
Field day is from 2:00 pm June 25th through
2:00 pm June 26th this year.
Jerry, W2JMP had asked Steve prior to the meeting if it would be okay
for a group of Boy Scouts to attend Field Day this year. They are working on their merit badges. Discussion regarding liability, etc. took
place. Someone said that the scouts
carry insurance coverage for field trips.
Steve stressed the importance of having enough chaperones for the scouts
that day. It was decided that anyone
attending Field Day this year would be responsible for all of their own food
and beverage. A motion was made by
Harry, KC2KYX, and seconded by Paul, WX2PJR, to provide a couple of cases of
water bottles since we cannot drink the water from our well. The motion passed.
The annual club picnic has been scheduled for August
13th this year. To help
defray the costs of providing chicken, etc. for the picnic, a suggestion was
made that each brings their meat to cook and a dish to pass.
Earl Timmerman’s daughter donated the combination
riding lawn mower / snow blower to the club.
Don, KB2VMR and Sam, KC2JNL will work tomorrow on attaching the mower
deck to the tractor.
