Clubhouse
Opening - The clubhouse opening party kicked off with a few large pizzas and
Limburger cheese compliments of Paul KC2GWT, Steve WA2VQD also brought in a cooler of soft drinks. Before the meeting kicked off, everybody
huddled around the kerosene heater eating Limburger cheese and pizza enjoying
everyone’s company.
Field
Day - Field day was discussed and a few ideas were tossed around about whether
people should bring a dish to pass, or should the club just provide a few
things, i.e. hotdogs, hamburgers etc. It
was also suggested that the club serve breakfast the following day on
Sunday. No committees have been assigned
as of yet. We are looking for volunteers to help with Field Day. The following positions are open: Antenna
Committee, Radio Committee, and Public Announcement committee. Last year we had a great turn out. Everybody had a great time. Even the newspaper reporter learned a few
things. Please see Mike KC2JGA if you have any
questions or would like to volunteer for a committee.
New
Business:
Meetings
- The idea was discussed to change the number of meetings held throughout the
year. It was noted that during the winter months, the club did not have enough
members present to conduct a proper meeting.
It was agreed upon that the club would not hold meetings during the
winter months between November and April.
Christmas
party - The Christmas party was discussed at length and was decided to change
the Christmas party to a tentative date of October 23. With this date change,
we are able to obtain maximum participants and a better selection of
restaurants. Paul KC2GWT is heading up the Christmas
committee. More info should be available at the next June meeting.
Don
KC2FOO is looking for volunteers to demonstrate
Amateur Radio to a group of Boy Scouts at the Lowville Fairgrounds May

looking for individual stations to be set up i.e. APRS station, RTTY station, and a PACKET station. If you have any
