ICS stands for Incident Command System. It is part of the federally mandated National Incident Management System or 'Structure' (NIMS) that all emergency response organizations are required to learn and adhere to. If you as an individual are contemplating being a member of a response organization or simply wish to know more about how emergencies in your area are being handled please take the time to attend.
ICS 100 will begin promptly at 12pm.
ICS 700 will begin promptly at 3pm.
Registration:
To register for courses, contact the office at (315)786-2654 or email us. Be sure to include your full name, department/agency (Amateur Radio Operator is adequate), exactly what course and location you are registering for and a contact number.
NIMS & ICS:
Federal, state and regulatory oversight agencies such as OSHA and PESH have outlined expected training requirements for emergency response agencies and their members in an effort to standardize response procedures, strengthen our interoperability and facilitate clear communication before, during and after emergencies.
Requirements for training, including ICS 100, IS 700 and IS 800, as well as extensive addtional information can be found at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's website.

RE: ICS 100 & 700 training in Sackets Harbor
Thank you to all who attended! We had a good turnout with the Ham Radio community constituting the bulk of the students present. Jefferson County enjoyed presenting us with this opportunity and look forward to helping us keep in shape for whatever the future holds.
