I just finished reading the article on "extinct" technology and found it quite interesting.

I still use some of the old technologies that the author says should be "extinct" such as the land-line telephone (Verizon). I use it for voice calls, but it's also connected to a fax machine. We are somewhat modern in the sense that we also have a VOIP telephone line (Time Warner Cable) in addition to the land-line service.
