Question Is it official, or not?
Should the website 'officially' become the preferred tool for disseminating meeting information?

Technology has developed by leaps and bounds since our By-Laws were created. In fact, it's light years ahead of our By-Laws. Do you feel that the time is right to introduce the internet into the wording of our By-Laws? This would recognize the web page as the official forum to post everything from proposed changes to our Constitution and By-Laws to up and coming events to, of course, the meeting minutes?

So far there has been no requirement by our rules stating that we must utilize this medium and what form the rules for such use would take. I intend to present this idea as a proposal with suggestions in an outline to the club at the next meeting.

RE: Is it official, or not?
Well it's been a while and the vote is in. At the September meeting I will make a motion in writing that we amend the Constitution and By-Laws (C&BL) to reflect the internet and it's significance to club operations. Some of the suggestions I will bring up will be to:

  1. Minutes, Activity Reports, Treasury Reports (encrypted) and other club business be held in an electronically retrievable format on a website owned and operated by the club.
  2. Proposed changes to the C&BL will be published in both electronic and paper form within the club newsletter issue following the meeting when said proposal was made. Paper is by mail subscription to those who do not have internet. A period of 3 weeks minimum publication can reasonably be satisfied by this method.
  3. Meeting hours, event schedules and clubhouse hours should be posted using the aforementioned digital medium.
